Greetings! I'm glad you decided to visit. I'm Dr. Patricia Beckstead, the creator of the 12 Step Journal.
I started my project as a way to do service by helping a friend in need. I have always been an organized person and one day, when my friend and I took a trip, she noticed my daily journal notebook.
Without boring you to death with the details, let's just say - it was very complete (from what I ate during the day to notes on my outreach calls). Some might say it's a little obsessive, but I don't think so. My journal helps me keep track of everything in my very busy and hectic day and reminds me to focus in the right places.
I really don't know what I would do without it...forget a lot of important stuff, I'm sure!
Anyway, I got the idea to make her a book like mine, except even better. Instead of having loose pages in a 3-ring binder, I thought it would be nice to have a bound book with a nice picture on the front cover. And so I got to work on the design.
Shortly after starting my little project, I got a call from my favorite Twelve Step Residential Recovery Program in Minnesota. It's called The Retreat and it holds a very dear place in my heart. They were having their yearly donation drive and called to ask if I could give to their worthy cause. That was when it hit me!
If I made this 12 Step Journal, I could give one to my dear friend and sell the rest to other people who love the Twelve Step Programs as much as I do - while donating much of the proceeds to my favorite Twelve Step groups and organizations...
(I have a few of them, you know).
So I sincerely hope you will take part in my dream and the dream of many. When you purchase a 12 Step Journal, you too will be giving back while helping yourself get more organized through journaling.
Bless you my friend. Thank you from the bottom of my Heart,
Patti
